Jim Peelman is a retired attorney, having practiced corporate, civil, and criminal law. At Inner City Health Center in Denver, he is working to build a sustainable community outreach campaign. Following his most recent legal work as a Public Defender, Jim was drawn to AmeriCorps because he wanted to “bring some equity and equality to people who might not have seen much of it”. The focus of the Colorado Immunity Corps on fighting entrenched poverty via disease prevention (immunization) rings true for Jim because “so many difficulties in life cannot be prevented, so we really need to go all in when we can prevent something bad from happening before it actually does happen”. Outside of work, Jim enjoys distance running and international travel.
