Seasonal influenza circulates from the beginning fall through the early spring in the United States. And while most who become infected with the influenza virus recover without serious complications, the COVID-19 pandemic has created serious concerns of a possible double epidemic—a “twindemic”—that could put excess strain on health care systems and increase mortality. On October 20, Immunize Colorado hosted Dr. Suchitra Rao of Children's Hospital Colorado for a discussion on the importance of receiving this year’s influenza vaccine to protect our communities.
